One award for scientific work, and a second for other professionals.
The CFANS Distinguished Academic (P&A) Staff Award recognizes the two members of the P&A staff in furthering the mission and goals of their unit(s) and the college; one for scientific work; and the second for other professionals;$1,500 [less taxes] and certificate.
Eligibility
All P&A staff in the College are eligible to be nominated for this award.
Nomination Procedure
- An online nomination form completed by one or more persons making the nomination;
- Two letters of recommendation
Evaluation Criteria
1. Takes initiative: Identifies and acts on problems or improves a situation in the work place.
2. Contributes ideas/innovations: These ideas/innovations are for job improvement or improvement in some other aspect of the office/lab/department, etc.
3. Positively influences morale: By a cooperative spirit or helping attitude.
4. Other: You may also want to mention significant results achieved because of this individuals contribution and/or other contributions this individual has made organizationally, to larger units, committees, etc.
Evaluation Procedure
The completed nomination packages will be reviewed by the College's Honors and Awards Committee. The committee will use the above criteria for selecting P&A Award recipients.
Presentation of Awards
The awards will be presented at the College Assembly on May 13, 2008.
